England’s star player Joe Root got injured in the ongoing second test match against India. Along with excellent batting, Root is also an adept player in spin bowling. On the third day of the second Test, Root suffered the injury during the 18th over of India’s second innings when he tried to catch the ball that hit Shubman Gill’s bat in the slips. The ball hit the former England captain’s finger and then went for the boundary. But due to injury, Joe Root had to leave the field. The England medical team is treating him and applying ice on the finger.
James Anderson gave this update
Joe Root’s teammate James Anderson said that the team management does not want to take any risks. Anderson said in the press conference after the end of the day’s play that yes, he is taking care of it. I think he got something on this finger during morning practice also. Then the same finger got injured in the field also. He said that I do not think there is anything to worry about. Just making sure it’s as good as it gets for tomorrow. We may need him in batting. So making sure he can catch the bat.

James Anderson said there is no point in taking any more outside risks so he is making sure he is fit to bat. Joe Root has not been able to score many runs in the series but in the first Test in Hyderabad, he took a total of 5 wickets in two innings. When he scored 29 and two runs with the bat in the Hyderabad Test, here he could score only five runs in the first innings.
