Vrinda Dinesh was bought by UP Warriors team for Rs 1.30 crore in the Women’s Premier League 2024 auction. 22-year-old Vrinda was the second most expensive uncapped Indian player in the auction. She said she was so overwhelmed and emotional after the auction that she could not muster the courage to call her mother. Vrinda has said a big thing after getting a huge amount in the auction. She has also told what she will do with this money.
Vrinda Dinesh will buy a car for her parents
During a conversation organized by UP Warriors, Vrinda said that I think her mother had tears in her eyes. I did not make a video call because I could not see the tears in his eyes. I just called them. When asked what she would do with this amount, Vrinda had already made a plan. “I knew they were overwhelmed,” she said. They were very happy for me. I want to make them proud. I will give my parents the car they always dreamed of. This is my first goal at the moment and we will see later.
Excited to play with these players
Vrinda Dinesh is currently in Raipur to prepare for the Women’s Under-23 T20 Trophy. Selling for a huge amount often puts players under pressure which affects their performance, on this Vrinda said that it is not in my power to sell for this amount. I have been selected and I want to give my best. I don’t think this amount will make much difference because after all I am here to play and enjoy the game.
She said that it is great to play under the captaincy of Alyssa Healy, to have Tahlia McGrath, Danny Watt and Sophie Ecclestone in the team who are great players of women’s cricket. I always thought about playing with him. She said that she wants to open the innings with captain Alyssa Healy.
