International T20 has announced a ban of 20 months on Afghanistan cricket team’s fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq. Naveen had announced his retirement from this format after the end of the ODI World Cup 2023, so that he could concentrate completely on the T20 format. However, now the International T20 League has banned him for violating the rules. Naveen plays for Sharjah Warriors team in this T20 league. Naveen was signed by Sharjah Warriors for the first season of the tournament. He was offered a further one-year extension by Sharjah Warriors but declined to sign a retention notice for a second season.
Naveen took 11 wickets in 9 matches
Naveen Ul Haq played for the Sharjah Warriors team in the recently concluded International T20 League season and took 11 wickets in 9 matches at an average of 24.36. Naveen was sent a retention notice by Sharjah Warriors earlier this year as per the terms of his player contract. After this, the three-member disciplinary committee of the International T20 League, which also included the League’s Chief Executive Officer David White, heard both Naveen and Sharjah Warriors separately in this entire matter and after that they found Naveen guilty in this. After finding this, a ban of 20 months was announced on him from playing in this league.
Part of Lucknow Super Giants team in IPL
Naveen Ul Haq is a part of the Lucknow Super Giants team in the Indian Premier League, in which he performed brilliantly for the franchise last season. However, due to his fight with Kohli, he also had to face the anger of Indian fans. Naveen took 8 wickets in 8 matches in the ODI World Cup 2023.
