Madhya Pradesh state is the heart of the country. Vicharpur is a village about four kilometers away from Shahdol district of this state. This village itself is famous by the name of Mini Brazil. Vicharpur is called Mini Brazil because this village is no less than a paradise for budding football players. Football players are present in every house of this village. So far, more than 40 footballers have emerged from here, who have left their mark at the national and state level. These players are ready to dominate the international arena in the coming days.
Former national player laid the foundation
About a decade ago, former national player and coach Raees Ahmed planted the seed of football among the youth here. Recognizing the abilities of young players, Ahmed trained them and polished them like diamonds. It was with his courage that the football revolution started in Vicharpur. Soon Vicharpur village became known for its football. Now many clubs have been formed around Shahdol district, where all the resources to play the game well are available. The hard work put in by Raees Ahmed is now bearing fruit. Football matches are being organized continuously in the entire Shahdol district, so that the players can get competition. Attention is also being given to the fitness and health of the players. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mentioned the mini Brazil village of Shahdol in the program ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
