Indian team’s star batsman KL Rahul scored a brilliant century against South Africa. He hit strokes all over the field and presented a brilliant batting example. It was because of him that the Indian team was able to reach a respectable score. Rahul completed his century by hitting a six. Earlier in the year 2021 also, he had scored a century in Centurion. Then Team India had won. Now former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar has said a big thing on Rahul’s century.

Sunil Gavaskar said this

Sunil Gavaskar said that I have been watching cricket for the last 50 years and I can undoubtedly say that this century of Rahul is among the top ten centuries in India’s Test history because the pitch here was very difficult. A batsman cannot gain confidence so easily, especially when the ball is swinging like this. Rahul completed his century by hitting a six off Gerald Coetzee. Regarding him, Gavaskar said that the shot on which he hit the six cannot be praised enough. It was a full length ball and this kind of shot is seen only in T20.

Team India had a very bad start in the first test match against South Africa. When Rohit Sharma was out after scoring only 5 runs. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill also could not play big innings. But Rahul held one end and batted brilliantly. On the first day of the first Test, India’s four wickets had fallen for 92 runs, after which Rahul played an inning of 101 runs in 137 balls. During Hindi commentary on Star Sports, Gavaskar said that Rahul has scored a century on a difficult pitch where the ball was taking strange bounce.

South Africa took the lead

The Indian team had scored 245 runs in its first innings. After this, South Africa took a lead of 11 runs with the help of Dean Elgar’s century on the second day of the game. Elgar is currently present at the crease after scoring 140 runs. So far South Africa has scored 256 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Apart from Elgar, David Bedingham scored 56 runs for Africa.
