Board of Control for Cricket in India: The Indian cricket team is currently playing a three-match T20 series against Afghanistan at home. Amidst this series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially invited applications for a key post. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has invited applications for the post of a selector for the senior men’s team. However, BCCI has not yet clarified which active selectors have been invited to replace the existing five-member panel headed by Ajit Agarkar. Let us tell you that after Ajit Agarkar became the president, two selectors have become from West. Apart from these, Salil Ankola (West), SS Das (East), S Sharath (South) and Subroto Banerjee (Central) are included. In such a situation, there is speculation that Salil Ankola can be replaced. At the same time, it is possible that BCCI would like to keep someone from the North in the panel.

Who can apply?

Applicants have until 6pm on January 25 to submit their candidature. Applicants must have a cricket background, having played at least seven Test matches, 30 First Class or 10 ODIs and 20 First Class matches. Apart from this, candidates must have retired at least five years ago. After this, BCCI will screen the applications before calling the shortlisted candidates for interview.

Conditions for selector applicants-

1- At least seven tests

2- 30 first-class matches
3- 10 ODIs and 20 first-class matches (experience of any one of the three)
-Must have retired from sports at least 5 years ago.
-Any person who has been a member of any cricket committee for a total period of 5 years shall not be eligible to become a member of the Men’s Selection Committee.
