India vs South Africa Test Series Virat Kohli Update : The test series between India and South Africa is now around the corner. The first match is to be played the next day after Christmas i.e. 26th December, which is also known as Boxing Day Test. For this, Team India is busy in its preparations. But meanwhile the Indian team has suffered a big setback. There is news that former Indian team captain Virat Kohli has returned home i.e. India from South Africa. But the good thing is that he may reach South Africa again before the start of the Test series.

Virat Kohli likely to go back to South Africa today itself

Former Indian team captain Virat Kohli is currently in India. It is said that he has returned due to some family reasons. But soon they will go to South Africa again. Virat Kohli did not play the ongoing three-day intra-squad in South Africa as he was in India. Although it is not known why Virat Kohli came back to India, but BCCI sources say that he will return in time for the first Test starting from December 26 in Centurion. Virat Kohli had come to Mumbai for three days with permission from the team management and BCCI. Virat Kohli is expected to return on Friday i.e. 22nd December.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury serious, out of entire test series

Meanwhile, the other news is that Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the India vs South Africa ODI series. Gaikwad suffered a finger injury during the second ODI against South Africa in Port Elizabeth on 19 December. This was the reason why he could not play even in the third and last ODI. In his place, Rajat Patidar was included in the team and he opened the innings. It is said that he is under the care of the BCCI medical team. Now it has been learned that there is no chance of Gaikwad recovering before the two Test matches and the team management has decided to release him immediately after consulting BCCI. He is expected to reach India by Saturday. After the Boxing Day Test, which ends on December 30, the Indian players will travel to Cape Town, where the second and final Test will begin on January 3.
