Indian Team Players
The players of the Indian team are sweating it out in the training camp for the first test match against Bangladesh. The first test match will be played at the Chepauk Stadium from September 19. The team players participated in their third practice session after rest on Sunday. Veteran Virat Kohli was the first to arrive for batting in the practice session and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was practicing in the net next to him. Both these batsmen batted more against fast bowlers Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin. The players also practiced fielding. In which the players were divided into two groups. This has been revealed by fielding coach T Dilip.
Virat’s team won: Coach T Dilip
India’s fielding coach T Dilip was impressed by the players’ commitment to practice despite the humid conditions. Dilip told BCCI TV after the practice session that our plan for today’s session was to keep all the players together for team drills. It had two phases. Considering the humidity, first the players competed among themselves. We divided the team into two groups and had a catching competition. The team that made fewer mistakes became the winner. Today Virat’s team won. Overall, considering the heat, this session was great.
Ravindra Jadeja, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant also practiced batting fiercely against local bowlers and throwdown experts. The practice pitch was giving good bounce to the bowlers. The Indian team will participate in two more practice sessions before the opening match of the two-match series. Captain Rohit, Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan also practiced batting.
Three spinners can get a chance in playing 11
The Chennai pitch is usually helpful for spinners and in such a situation, there is a high possibility that the Indian team will take the field with three spinners and two fast bowlers. The responsibility of fast bowling will be on Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, while in the spin department, Ashwin and Jadeja along with Kuldeep Yadav are likely to make it to the playing eleven. In such a situation, Akshar Patel, who has been consistently impressing with his game for some time, may have to sit out.
