IPL 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, March 12, declared Rishabh Pant fit to play as a wicketkeeper-batsman in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League. The very next day i.e. on March 13, the cricketer joined the Delhi Capitals camp and will captain the team this season. Pant is returning to cricket for the first time since December 2022 after surviving a horrific accident while returning home from Delhi after the Bangladesh tour and fans are eagerly waiting for this moment.

Meanwhile, the left-handed batsman is both excited and nervous to return to the field after a long gap and has said that he feels like he is making his debut again. In the media release issued by the franchise, Pant said that I am excited and nervous at the same time. I feel like I am making my debut again. The cricketer is currently in Visakhapatnam in the DC camp where he has to play two home matches as per the schedule of the first phase released.
Rishabh Pant described his comeback as a ‘miracle’ and is grateful to the fans, BCCI and family for sticking by him in difficult times. He said that being able to play cricket again after what I have gone through is nothing short of a miracle. I am grateful to all our well-wishers and fans and most importantly to the staff of BCCI and NCA. All their love and support will continue to give me great strength. Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play their first match of the season on March 23 against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur, which is the new home ground of Punjab Kings.
