Nita Ambani: The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is currently being played in Indian cricket. The Women’s Premier League was started in the year 2023. This league, started on the lines of IPL, is the first league in the world in which the auction of women players was held. The biggest feature of the Women’s Premier League was that many big players from all over the world had participated in the very first season of this league. She cited the example of Sajeevan Sajna to prove why parents should encourage their girls to play sports if they want to. Nita Ambani said that this is a good platform for our girls to perform. These girls are getting a chance to play with the best players in the world and it is a heart-touching feeling. I saw Sajna receiving the award. He is a graduate in Political Science, his father is an autorickshaw driver and he chose to play cricket. I hope this will set an example for parents to encourage their girls to choose the profession of their choice. Not just for cricket, WPL is an example for girls in all types of sports.
Nita Ambani further said that I have been in cricket since 2010 and watching these girls play is one of my most heart-touching experiences. MI is known as a family and I just tell them to go out, do their best and have fun. The MI team mistress also praised captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who has stepped up and scored runs this season. She also praised the support staff led by head coach Charlotte Edwards and Jhulan Goswami for the excellent work they have done so far.
