Yashasvi Jaiswal can get a big ICC award, there is competition with these players

ICC Player of the Month : Team India’s new opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal can get a big ICC award. ICC has announced the names of 3 players as nominations for Player of the Month for February. Whichever player wins this, will be called the biggest player of February. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal is in competition with New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka.

Kane Williamson scored a flurry of centuries

The month of February this year has been very special for Kane Williamson. He has played a big role in helping his team win by scoring consecutive centuries. Kane Williamson scored two centuries in the first Test at Mount Maunganui and then scored an unbeaten 133 to help his team chase down a tricky fourth innings target in Hamilton and seal a series win. Due to these centuries of Kane Williamson, New Zealand reached number one in the ICC World Test Championship points table, although later it had to come down and the team is currently in second place.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored back to back double centuries against England

Talking about Yashasvi Jaiswal, he created many new records by scoring two back to back double centuries against England. In Visakhapatnam, he first played an excellent inning of 209 runs in the first innings and then helped India take the lead in the series by scoring a double century in the second innings of the Test in Rajkot. Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently the highest run-scorer batsman in the ICC World Test Championship 2023.25. He has scored 971 runs in eight matches so far and may soon complete his 1000 runs. Jaiswal hit 12 sixes during his innings in the Rajkot Test and equaled Wasim Akram’s old record. Back-to-back double centuries at the age of 22 years and 49 days made him the third youngest batsman in the world to score two double centuries in Tests, after Sir Don Bradman and Vinod Kambli.

Pathum Nissanka scored a double century in ODI against Afghanistan

After this, if we talk about Pathum Nissanka of Sri Lanka, he also batted brilliantly for his team in February. He has become the first player from Sri Lanka to score a double century in ODI. He scored an unbeaten 210 off just 139 balls against Afghanistan in Pallekele. Even after this his bat did not become silent. He managed to score an inning of 118 runs in 101 balls. Nissanka broke Sanath Jayasuriya’s 24-year-old record for the highest score by a Sri Lankan batsman in a single match in ODIs. Jayasuriya scored 189 runs against India in Sharjah in 2000.
