3. Jaiswal reached fifth place
Yashasvi Jaiswal has reached fifth position in terms of scoring his first double century by playing the least number of innings in Test cricket. Jaiswal has scored a double century in Test cricket after playing only 10 innings. Karun Nair played three innings, Vinod Kambli played four innings, Sunil Gavaskar and Mayank Agarwal scored 8 innings, Cheteshwar Pujara played 9 Test innings and scored a double century.
4. 25th player to score a double century for India
Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the 25th player for India to score a double century in Test cricket. Before him, 24 players for India have scored double centuries in Test cricket. Now Yashasvi Jaiswal has registered his name in the list of those who have scored a double century in Test cricket for India.
5. This happened for the first time for India
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored more than half of Team India’s runs during this innings. Apart from him, no Indian batsman could touch the figure of 35 runs in this innings. This is the first time in Test cricket for India, when a batsman from Team India has scored a double century and no other batsman could score more than 35 runs in the same innings. Jaiswal scored 209 runs for India. Whereas Shubhman Gill was the second best batsman by scoring 34 runs.
