Paris: The French Parliament has approved a major bill. The French parliament voted on Monday to enshrine the right to abortion in the constitution. This bill has also been approved in the voting. 780 votes were cast in favor of this voting, while only 72 votes were cast against it. Following the vote, France became the first country in the world to provide explicit protection for termination of pregnancy in its basic law. After the approval of this bill, abortion will become the constitutional right of women.

The MPs here approved the bill to make abortion a constitutional right of women in the country during the joint session of Parliament on Monday. Voting took place on this bill. Regarding voting, 780 votes were cast in favor of the bill while 72 votes were cast against it. Women’s rights activists expressed happiness over the approval of this bill and appreciated this step. Let us tell you that both the houses of the Parliament, the National Assembly and the Senate, have already approved a bill to amend Article 34 of the French Constitution, so that women can be guaranteed the right to abortion.
Talks between India and France

The discussion in the national capital took place under the framework of India-France bilateral talks on disarmament and non-proliferation. The Ministry of External Affairs said that “the two sides discussed developments in the nuclear, chemical and biological fields as well as in the field of disarmament and non-proliferation related to external security.” And also discussed issues related to multilateral export control arrangements.
