Once again a Hindu temple has been targeted in America. BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir located in Melville area of New York has been damaged by anti-social elements. The Consulate General of India in New York has raised this matter before the US administration. The embassy has condemned this attack and termed it unacceptable. The embassy has urged for immediate action against the criminals involved in this act.
What is the whole matter?
According to footage that surfaced on social media, offensive words were spray painted on the road and symbols outside a Hindu temple in Melville. The Hindu American Foundation has said that the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security should investigate the incident.
The Indian Consulate in New York on Monday said in a post on ‘X’ that the incident of defacing of the signboard near the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Melville, New York is unacceptable. The consulate is “in touch with the community and the matter has been taken up with officials of law enforcement agencies for prompt action against the perpetrators of this heinous act,” the post said.
