Powerful message against authoritarianism
The nomination of the World Uyghur Congress for the Nobel Peace Prize sends a powerful message against authoritarianism. It is important for the international community to acknowledge and condemn the genocidal policies of the Chinese Communist Party against Uyghur Muslims. The statement said that CCP is against Uyghur Muslims. The WUC nomination papers highlighted the nonviolent approach that the Uyghur people have chosen despite continuing to face harsh repression. Therefore, the international community should not take such efforts lightly.
