Washington: To counter enemies like China, a big defense deal has been signed between India and America in Washington. American companies have joined hands with New Delhi to fulfill the goal of a developed India by the year 2047. In this, major defense production companies of America will produce weapons in India under “Make in India”. These weapons jointly made by India and America will now rule the whole world in the coming times. That is, the whole world will now buy weapons made in India. This will be a huge achievement for India, which will make India and America the world’s superpower in defense production.
As part of these objectives, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan and shared his views on “important” strategic matters of mutual interest to India and the US. A day earlier, India and the US signed two major agreements to further strengthen their global strategic partnership. Singh has arrived here on a visit to the US to further strengthen the comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two countries. Singh wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ after his meeting on Friday, “It was a pleasure to meet US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and share views on important strategic matters of mutual interest.”
American defense companies ready to produce weapons in India
He also had a “fruitful” interaction with representatives of leading US defence companies and invited them to work with Indian partners to accelerate the ‘Make in India’ programme. Singh wrote in another post, “Had a fruitful interaction with leading US companies of the defence industry at a roundtable organised by USISPF (India US Strategic Partnership Forum). Invited them to work with Indian partners to accelerate our ‘Make in India’ programme towards achieving self-reliance in the defence sector. Indian and US companies together will co-develop and co-produce for the world.”

USISPF wrote on ‘X’, “In a roundtable with USISPF board members and defense industry leaders, the Defense Minister discussed the US-India defense relationship, its unprecedented growth, and how the defense sector and investments by American companies will play a key role in India’s growth story and achieving the 2047 goal. “It said that Singh “emphasized advancing strategic partnerships and defense cooperation through defense activities.” USISPF President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mukesh Aghi said that Singh “spoke about the evolution of defense ties and strategic relations, in which the private sector now plays a key role in establishing deeper defense synergies in new areas of critical and emerging technology such as cyber, drones, AI, space and quantum. “
A day before this, Singh met US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Friday and reviewed the current defense cooperation activities between the two countries. Singh said in a post on ‘X’, “I had a wonderful meeting with my dear friend US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. We reviewed the current defense cooperation activities and discussed ways to strengthen it. The signing of the supply security arrangement and the agreement for the deployment of Indian officers in the major US command are historic developments. (Language)
