Indian athletes had a great performance in Paris Paralympics 2024. Indian athletes were successful in performing their best in the Paralympics this time. They won 29 medals including seven gold, 9 silver and 13 bronze medals. These athletes were given a grand welcome on their return to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met all the athletes at his residence and wished them good luck for the next Paralympic Games. The Sports Ministry has released a video of this meeting in which the Prime Minister can be seen congratulating and talking to the athletes who won Paralympic medals. A long video of this meeting has also been uploaded on YouTube in which the PM is seen having a detailed conversation with all the athletes.

PM showed a different style

On this special occasion, the Prime Minister told the athletes that all of you have not only won medals but have also changed the thinking… Nowadays medals and everything in sports have a lot of importance and are also counted. But being a country with a population of 140 crores, we go to the games not just to play but to win. During this meeting, a different style of PM was also seen. There was an occasion when the Prime Minister sat down on the floor to humbly accept the cap while talking to javelin thrower Navdeep Singh. At the same time, Parmar was seen getting his medal signed by Prime Minister Modi. Sheetal Devi, an armless archer who won a bronze medal in Paris, presented a signed jersey to Modi. He signed the jersey with his foot.

Navdeep told a funny story

PM Modi asked javelin thrower Navdeep a question about his special celebration, to which he got a funny answer. Navdeep said that his event was on the last day. And he reached Paris around 21 August. So as soon as the medals started coming, he started getting a little nervous that everyone is winning, what will happen to him? Navdeep said that the advice of senior athletes like Sumit, Sandeep, Ajit and Devendra sir helped him stay calm. So by the time his event came, he was quite relaxed.
