While cultivating black pepper, it should be kept in mind that this crop does not grow in very cold climates. Apart from this, it cannot be cultivated even in hot summer season. The more humid the season, the faster the pepper vine spreads. This crop is planted in heavy soil with waterlogged soil. Black pepper is a type of vine. Which can be grown on trees. Dig a pit at a distance of 30 cm from the tree and then add two to three bags of manure in it. Later add fertilizer and clean soil in it. Then apply BHC powder and start planting chillies.

Kerala is the largest producer

It needs special care, keep using fertilizer from time to time. After 3 years, 20 kg manure or compost, 300 gm urea, 250 gm muriate of potash and 1 kg super phosphate should be applied to each vine. Although insects do not attack it, many of them can cause crop damage. To control these, Malathion or Carbaryl should be sprayed on vines and fruits. Digging under the vine also reduces the risk of pests. Kerala is far ahead in the country in terms of black pepper production. According to reports, 98 percent of black pepper is produced in Kerala. Black pepper is also produced in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
