According to the latest media reports in this regard, more than 250 Kendriya Vidyalayas are still running in tents and temporary buildings. Among these, the state of Bihar can be said to be in the worst condition. About 16 Kendriya Vidyalayas are running in tents or tents here. There is a school which has been running in a tent for 35 years. Ever since this school was built, the building has not been provided till date. Many such schools are hoping for a permanent building but they are not able to get land. When the state government gives land, the central government builds a school on it at its own expense. Due to non-availability of land, schools are running in tents or temporary buildings.

If we talk about the total number of schools, then the maximum number of Kendriya Vidyalayas which are running in temporary buildings are in UP. Some time ago, when Minister of State Subhash Sarkar was asked a question about this in the Lok Sabha, he had said that 253 schools are running in temporary buildings. He also said that no school is being run on rented space. Purchasing land and getting construction done for these Kendriya Vidyalayas is a long process and work is going on in this direction.
How many Kendriya Vidyalayas are in temporary buildings in UP?
In Uttar Pradesh, maximum 23 Kendriya Vidyalayas are running in temporary buildings. After this, 21 schools in MP, 18 in Odisha and 18 in Bihar are in temporary buildings. JK, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Punjab and Jharkhand are the remaining names in the list.
