Class 10th Dropout Rate In India: There has still been no reduction in the number of students dropping out of class 10th in India. Figures for the year 2021-22 show that 20.6 percent students left studies in class 10th. The state whose name is at the top in this is Odisha, after which comes Bihar. The student dropout rate is very high in these states. This information was given in response to a question in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

The number of school dropout students is still very high but if compared with previous years, it has declined. In the year 2018-19 it was 28.4 percent. This means that in the next year this rate was reduced by about 8 percent.
The condition of Odisha and Bihar is very bad.
Odisha is at number one among the states which are in the worst situation in this matter. The student dropout rate here was recorded at 49.9 percent. This means that almost half of the students coming in 10th class leave their studies midway. Bihar stood at second place where the dropout rate was 42.1 percent.

According to TOI report, the Union Education Minister, in response to a question, said that in the year 2022, 1,89,90,809 students took the class 10th examination and 29,56,138 students did not go to the next class i.e. class eleventh.
What is the situation in which state?
After Odisha and Bihar, the names of the states in this list are Meghalaya – 33.5 percent, Karnataka – 28.5 percent, Andhra Pradesh – 28.3 percent, Assam – 28.3 percent. Gujarat and Telangana come next in the list.

The states where student dropout rate was low are as follows – Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Manipur. Their dropout rates were – 9.8, 9.2, 9, 3.8, 2.5, 7.4, 1.3 and zero percent respectively.
