Recently another sad news has come out from the entertainment industry. It is reported that Bhojpuri’s most senior artist Brijesh Tripathi has passed away. It is being told that 72 year old Brijesh Tripathi was suffering from dengue 2 weeks ago, after which he was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Meerut. After recovering from dengue, when he reached his home in Mumbai from Meerut last night, he suddenly had a heart attack last night, after which he was hurriedly taken to the hospital but unfortunately the doctor declared him dead. There is a wave of mourning in the entire Bhojpuri industry since the news of Brijesh Tripathi’s demise came to light.
Brijesh Tripathi’s career
Let us tell you that Brijesh Tripathi was called the ‘Godfather’ of Bhojpuri. He is associated with Bhojpuri cinema from the era when only a few films were made in Bhojpuri. From that era of Bhojpuri cinema till today, Brijesh Tripathi has created his own identity through acting by working in hundreds of films. Bhojpuri films seem incomplete without him. Brijesh Tripathi started his film career on September 11, 1978 with the Hindi film ‘Taxi Chor’, in which Mithun Chakraborty was in the lead role and Zarina Wahab was the heroine. After this, I got a chance to work with Raj Babbar in another film. Whose name was ‘Fifth Floor’. After this he never looked back.

Apart from films, Brijesh Tripathi has also worked in Hindi serials. But he got recognition from Bhojpuri films only. Let us tell you that Brijesh Tripathi had shared the screen with many big stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Rajinikanth. Talking about Bhojpuri films, he had worked with many people including Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Pawan Singh and Khesari Lal Yadav. On his demise, film actor cum Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan says that we had done about 100 films with Brijesh Tripathi ji, his departure is the departure of an era from the Bhojpuri film world.
