‘I was not as beautiful as Smita Patil or Shabana’-Ratna
Talking about this, Ratna Pathak Shah said, ‘When I started my career in the 80s, I used to get roles of older women because I was not as beautiful as Smita Patil or Shabana Azmi.’ I accepted that I did not have that talent. My face was not special like Smita or Shabana. That’s why the directors did not feel that I was worthy of being cast like other heroines, and I am not surprised by this.
While talking about her career choices, Ratna Pathak said, ‘I do not like to be a part of those films where the focus is only on one superstar. I like shows or films like Friends, in which there is no single star.
