AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi
Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday requested the Central government to take steps to bring back 12 Indian youths who were duped by agents by promising them jobs. Owaisi mentioned the plight of the youth who were taken to Russia with the promise of jobs and were allegedly sent to the war zone on the border with Ukraine.
Owaisi requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to hold talks with the Russian government to ensure the safe return of the youth. Hyderabad MP Owaisi, while talking to reporters here, said that youths from Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh were taken to Russia in December last year.
He said, “12 youths from India were cheated by the agents and were taken to Russia with the promise of jobs. The agents had said that they (unemployed youths) would be given building security jobs, but after cheating, they were taken to Russia. -Taken to the battlefield on the Ukraine border.
What did Owaisi say?
Owaisi said that the family members of the victims have met him. He said he has written letters to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and Indian Ambassador to Russia Pawan Kapoor requesting help in bringing the youth back to India.
Owaisi said his party would continue to make efforts to ensure that Modi does not become prime minister for the third time. He said, “Our effort is that Modi does not become Prime Minister for the third time. We had tried in 2014 and 2019 (Lok Sabha elections) and we will try in 2024 also. We hope that the people of the country will pay attention to the issue of inflation and unemployment. Farmers are worried.
He said that in the last 10 years, BJP has promoted majoritarian politics. He accused the BJP and Modi of marginalizing Muslims, Christians, Dalits and tribal people politically and socially. (input language)
