3 important bills related to Jammu and Kashmir got Parliament’s approval, know what is special – India TV Hindi

Three important bills related to Jammu and Kashmir have got the approval of Parliament.

New Delhi: Parliament on Friday approved 3 important bills related to Jammu and Kashmir. These bills include provisions for giving reservation to OBCs in local body elections in the Union Territory and including Valmiki community in the Scheduled Caste. The Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Bill (Amendment) Bill, the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Bill were passed by voice vote after simultaneous discussion in the Rajya Sabha. Let us tell you that these bills have already been passed in the Lok Sabha.

‘There is no truth in the opposition’s allegations regarding Kashmir’

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar and Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda responded to the discussion on the bills and then they were approved by the Rajya Sabha. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, while replying to the discussion on ‘Jammu and Kashmir Local Bodies Law (Amendment) Bill, 2024’, said that there is not even an iota of truth in all the allegations made by the opposition members regarding Jammu and Kashmir. He said that after the abrogation of Article 370, development has gained momentum there and the Union Territory has joined the mainstream.

‘Necessary changes happened after removal of 370 from Kashmir’

Rai said that during the reign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there have been significant changes in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370 and 35A and improvements have been seen in social and economic dimensions including peace, security and development. He said that there has been excellent development in the fields of irrigation projects, agriculture, tourism etc. and work has been done for social welfare. Rai said, ‘Article 370 was an obstacle to the unity and integrity of the country and that stigma was ended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.’ He said that there has been a lot of improvement in infrastructure in Kashmir, industrial development has also taken place, due to which production and tourism have also increased.

‘More than 4 lakh employment opportunities will be created’

Rai said that after the removal of Article 370, 3,362 proposals have come for the industrial sector and investment proposals worth more than Rs 90 thousand crore have been received and this will provide more than 4 lakh employment opportunities. He said, ‘Investments worth more than Rs 5000 crore have been made. It is the result of the efforts of the Modi government that there has been a decline in violence, stone pelting, murder and other terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have trusted the Modi government. The objective of this bill is to establish the principles of fairness and inclusivity in local body elections.
