Panaji: A five-year-old boy died by drowning in a swimming pool during a birthday party at a residential complex near Panaji in Goa. Police gave this information on Saturday. Police said that the incident of drowning of the child happened on Wednesday. Actually, the child had gone to a birthday celebration with his family. Meanwhile, while walking, he went towards the swimming pool. During this time no one noticed him and he fell into the pool. He could not get out after the fall. By the time people took him to the hospital, he died.

“Daksh Mouskar, a resident of Valpoi village in North Goa, had come to Old Goa village with his parents to attend the birthday celebrations of a family friend,” a senior officer of the Old Goa police station said. When a celebration was going on in the club house of a residential complex, the boy went towards the swimming pool and fell in it. Police said that after some time he was found in the swimming pool. When people saw him, they all came together and took him out. At that time he was found in an unconscious state. Seeing his condition serious, he was taken to a nearby private hospital. When his condition did not improve in the hospital, he was later taken to Goa Medical College, Bambolim, where he was declared dead. The police officer said that a case of accidental death has been registered and the matter is being investigated.
