How did the accident happen?

According to media reports, all the 20 deceased and injured were residents of Digpahandi in Ganjam and were traveling in a van to Maa Tarini temple of the district for darshan. However, on the way, the van collided with a parked truck on NH-20. According to the information, 7 of the passengers died on the spot. The accident was so severe that the van was badly damaged.
