A woman jumped out of the auto when its brakes failed and died due to severe head injuries

Mangala Rai (26), a woman, jumped out of an auto when its brakes suddenly failed at Birla Dhal on the Nirsa-Jamtara Road in Dhanbad, Jharkhand at 4 pm on Saturday evening. She suffered serious head injuries. She was taken to the Nirsa Community Health Center for treatment, where doctors declared her dead. The doctors gave first aid to the other two injured women and referred them to Dhanbad.

The woman was returning after taking a loan

The deceased woman was a resident of Madhuraydih village of Ghaghra Panchayat of Nirsa block. Her husband Vasudev Rai is a daily wage labourer. She has a son and a daughter. A woman named Mangala Rai (deceased) was returning to her village by auto along with other women of her SHG group after taking a loan from Axis Bank’s Chirkunda branch.

Meanwhile, the brakes of the auto suddenly failed at Bidladhal on Jamtara Road. The brake failure caused panic among the passengers. Mangala Rai jumped out of the auto. Due to which she suffered serious head injuries. The driver drove the auto over sand kept on the roadside due to which the auto stopped. In a hurry, the local people took the injured to the Nirsa Community Health Center, where the doctor declared Mangala dead.

Other women were also injured

Two other women travelling in the auto were also injured. These included Sulekha Rai and another. It is said that both of them are residents of Madhuraydih village. The doctor has referred them to Dhanbad SNMMCH. The relatives of the deceased are inconsolable. It is said that there were eight people travelling in the auto. Most of them were women. Four of these women were residents of Madhuraydih village. One of them died. While two women were injured. Doctor Mrinal Shrivastava said that three women had come for treatment. Among them, a woman named Mangala Rai had serious head injuries. She was found dead during examination. The two injured women were referred to Dhanbad after first aid.
