Eshwarappa is adamant on contesting Lok Sabha elections
Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, the party’s national general secretary and in-charge of Karnataka, came to persuade K.S. Eshwarappa on Sunday to woo K.S. Eshwarappa, who was bent upon rebelling against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but former Deputy Chief Minister Eshwarappa came as an independent candidate. He is adamant on his decision to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Eshwarappa is adamant on contesting elections from Karnataka’s Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency against former Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa’s elder son B.Y.Raghavendra and is showing a rebellious attitude.
Party national general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal along with some other senior party functionaries met Eshwarappa on Sunday and tried to convince him not to contest the elections. However, he remained “adamant” on his stand and said that he will definitely contest the elections and no one can change his mind.
National General Secretary of BJP gave clarification
Speaking to reporters after meeting Eshwarappa, Agarwal said it was his personal visit and had nothing to do with politics. Aggarwal said, “We belong to the same party and we are friends. This was our personal journey. I sat with his family, there were children there. We don’t talk to children about politics. Meeting the family is not a political issue for me.”
Eshwarappa is angry because of this
Eshwarappa on Sunday once again expressed his anger against former Chief Minister and BJP Parliamentary Board member B.S. Yediyurappa for denying ticket to his son K.E. Kantesh. Former Deputy Chief Minister Eshwarappa told the press conference, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come back to power and the party should be freed from the control of B.S.Yediyurappa and his family. With this intention in mind, I am contesting the Lok Sabha elections.”
Eshwarappa bluntly – I will contest elections
Eshwarappa said central level BJP leaders are under the illusion that only Yediyurappa can help them get a certain number of seats. He said, “We have to talk to the central leadership about the bad politics happening in Karnataka. We call Congress a party controlled by the family of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Modi also targets Congress for this. Now BJP in Karnataka is becoming like Congress.” He said, “Leaders at the central and state level will understand that I am protesting. That is why I am contesting the elections.”
