Government took a big decision after successful campaign in Uttarkashi

Dehradun: After the successful tunnel campaign in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, the government has taken a big decision. A new officer has been given the responsibility in place of Uttarakhand Police Chief Ashok Kumar, who is retiring on November 30. Now 1996 batch IPS Abhinav Kumar will take over the responsibility of acting DGP of the state. Let us tell you that Abhinav Kumar was currently holding the charge of Additional Director General of Police, Information and Security.

Along with this, he has also been appointed DGP till further orders. It is believed that IPS Abhinav Kumar is one of the most special officers of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. He is also performing the responsibility of Special Secretary to the CM. Before this, Abhinav Kumar had been the police captain of big districts like Haridwar and Dehradun. He served as IG Garhwal for a few months. Served in CRPF on central deputation. At the time when Section 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir, the command was in the hands of Abhinav Kumar.

IPS Abhinav Kumar is originally from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. His image is that of a sharp officer. He is a 1996 IPS cadre batch officer. Abhinav Kumar came here after the formation of Uttarakhand. Here he also assumed the captaincy of various districts. He became DIG in 2009 and IG in 2014.
