Central government took a big decision regarding Joshimath

New Delhi: After the successful tunnel campaign in Uttarkashi, now the entire focus of the central and state government is on redevelopment. Both the governments have also started surveying other under-construction tunnels in the state. Along with this, both the governments have also focused their attention on Joshimath which was earlier a victim of disaster. Governments know that if attention is not paid to this, they will have to face a major disaster in the future.

An amount of Rs 1658.17 crore will be released for Joshimath.

In this sequence, on Thursday, the high level committee under the chairmanship of Home Minister Amit Shah in the Union Home Ministry has approved the Recovery and Reconstruction (R&R) scheme of Rs 1658.17 crore for Joshimath. Under this R&R scheme, central assistance of Rs 1079.96 crore will be provided from the Recovery and Reconstruction Window of the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).

Funds will also be released from SDRF fund

Apart from the central assistance, the state government will provide Rs 126.41 crore from its State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for relief assistance and Rs 451.80 crore from its state budget, which also includes Rs 91.82 crore towards land acquisition cost for rehabilitation.

Earlier, the state government had announced to release a total of Rs 45 crore to the affected families of Joshimath. It was said to provide immediate interim assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh per family, out of which Rs 1 lakh was given to them as advance before the preparation of permanent displacement policy and Rs 50 thousand was given to them for transportation of goods and immediate needs. Was.
