The news of alleged sexual harassment and violence against women in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal has shocked the entire country. All the opposition parties including BJP and Congress are continuously protesting against the state CM Mamata Banerjee and her party Trinamool Congress. Meanwhile, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, who has spent a long time in West Bengal, has expressed his displeasure over the Sandeshkhali violence. He has also alleged that there is a strong nexus between goons, police and politicians in Bengal.

Does democracy exist in West Bengal?

Speaking to reporters in Jabalpur, Kailash Vijayvargiya said that while people protest by lighting candles in Delhi for small incidents, they should visit Sandeshkhali and check whether democracy exists in West Bengal. He said that the rights of the local people have been violated in Sandeshkhali. He said that the local people have the land lease documents but the land is not in their possession. They have the right to get food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana, but they are not getting any ration.

Big revelation about Shahjahan Sheikh

BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has also made a big revelation about Shahjahan Sheikh, the main accused in the Sandeshkhali violence. He told that in Sandeshkhali, BJP Mandal President was shot dead in his temple but the police did not arrest the attackers for a year. When I staged a protest, the police registered a complaint against unknown persons and arrested him (Shahjahan Shaikh) as a formality. Later he was acquitted giving the benefit of doubt. These things clearly show the nexus between goons, police and politicians.

Also spoke on President’s rule

On the demand for imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal, Vijayvargiya said that the BJP government follows the rules and procedures. The Governor submits a report, after which the Central Government takes a decision. Kailash Vijayvargiya said that BJP has never used Article 356 (President’s rule) till date because the party believes in democracy. Vijayvargiya further said that there is no democracy in West Bengal. It is my opinion that President’s rule should be imposed in West Bengal. This is not the idea of BJP. (input language)
