Big action against cyber criminals in Jharkhand, more than 8600 bank accounts sealed

Major action has been taken against cyber criminals in Jharkhand.

Ranchi/Bokaro: In Jharkhand, 8674 bank accounts allegedly linked to cyber criminals have been sealed. Police suspect that they were using them to dupe people. Giving information about this on Tuesday, a CID official said that maximum 2002 accounts were sealed in Deoghar district, followed by 1183 in Dhanbad and 959 in Ranchi. Jharkhand CID Director General Anurag Gupta said, ‘We have received details of sealed bank accounts from the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center and a list of them was prepared district and bank-wise.’

‘495 people arrested in 3 months’

Gupta said the details will be shared with the superintendents of police of all districts and the bank for verification of accounts. He said that the details of these account holders will be searched. Director General of Jharkhand CID said, ‘If these accounts are found to be fake or linked to cyber criminals, action will be taken against the account holders.’ CID is carrying out a large-scale operation against cyber criminals in Jharkhand. Gupta said that in the last three months, 495 people allegedly involved in cyber crimes have been arrested and FIR has been registered against 107 people for cyber fraud.

‘1164 mobile phones were also seized’

Gupta said that apart from this, 1164 mobile phones and 1725 SIM cards have also been seized so far during the campaign against cyber crime. Continuous raids are being conducted against cyber criminals in various districts including Deoghar, Giridih, Bokaro, Jamtara and Ranchi. Police said that 16 cyber criminals were arrested from Bokaro district on Monday. Bokaro Nagar Deputy Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Kumar said that the accused were living in a rented house near ‘Co-operative Colony’. He said that the police have also recovered mobile phone, SIM card, post barcode, rubber stamp and fake currency from them. (Language)
