Mehbooba Mufti
Srinagar: Mehbooba Mufti’s party PDP has decided to separate from the India alliance. Mehbooba Mufti announced her separation from the India alliance in a press conference. She said that she wanted to contest the elections together to defeat BJP but she was disappointed with the attitude of the National Conference and has decided to walk away from the alliance.
On National Conference leader Omar Abdullah’s statement, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said, “Omar Abdullah himself said that he is not in the alliance. We wanted PAGD to continue but everyone knows who ended this PAGD… We will talk to Congress because we are in INDIA alliance…PAGD was a democratic alliance but the way it has disintegrated is very disappointing…We should have made collective efforts. We (PDP) made a lot of efforts, but they (Omar Abdullah) announced without any discussion that he will contest on all three seats.”
