Big disclosure in electoral bonds, BJP had received donations worth crores of rupees in one day – India TV Hindi

Electoral bond disclosure

In the matter of electoral bonds, the website of the Election Commission has revealed that eight times between April 2018 and 2023, BJP has received donations of one billion rupees or more in a single day through electoral bonds. According to the information, the figure of election donations in one day is even up to Rs 200 crore. Let us tell you that the Election Commission has also received from the Supreme Court the data of donations received from various political parties through electoral bonds in 2019, which the Commission had given to the Supreme Court as it was without opening the envelope.

The data is shocking

Both the old data received on Saturday, March 16 and the data received from State Bank of India are shocking. If we look at this data, mainly BJP, Congress, DMK, AIADMK and NCP have disclosed the election donations received through bonds. All national, state or territory level and registered but unrecognized political parties have shared information about donations received from electoral bonds with the Election Commission.

Among these parties, DMK, AIDMK, AAP and Samajwadi Party have revealed the names of major donors. Whereas CPI(M), CPI, NPP and BSP have clearly declared that they have not received any donation through electoral bonds. CPI (M) and CPI have also said that donations through bonds will not be accepted on ethical grounds.

BJP has received the maximum donations

BJP received the highest amount of Rs 6,986.5 crore through these bonds, followed by West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress (Rs 1,397 crore), Congress (Rs 1,334 crore) and BRS (Rs 1,322 crore). Election Commission data on Sunday showed that top buyers of electoral bonds, Future Gaming and Hotel Services, donated Rs 509 crore to Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK through the now defunct payment mode.

Odisha’s ruling party BJD was the fourth-largest recipient with ₹944.5 crore, followed by DMK with ₹656.5 crore and Andhra Pradesh’s ruling party YSR Congress redeemed bonds worth about ₹442.8 crore.

Parties filed manifesto

Now after the disclosure, most of the political parties receiving donations from electoral bonds have given details only of the value of the bonds encashed by them along with the date. It also includes the names of the donors and the amount contributed by them through electoral bonds. A total of 519 parties across national, regional or state and unrecognized registered parties have submitted their manifestos to the Election Commission. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is among those parties which have not yet filed their manifesto.

The Election Commission has now made public the electoral bond details submitted under sealed cover given by the political parties and it is believed that the details given are before April 12, 2019. The Election Commission has today uploaded the data received in digital form from the Supreme Court Registry on electoral bonds on its website.
