AD Singh got the responsibility of DG post of CRPF

New Delhi: ITBP Director General (DG) AD Singh has been given the additional charge of the post of Director General (DG) of CRPF. ITBP Director General (DG) Anish Dayal Singh has been given additional charge of CRPF due to the retirement of current CRPF DG S L Thaosen on November 30, an official order said on Wednesday.

The Union Home Ministry order said that 1988 batch IPS officer of Manipur cadre AD Singh will hold the charge of CRPF DG till further orders.

When were Singh and Thaosen appointed?

Let us tell you that IPS Thaosen of 1988 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre was appointed as DG of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in October last year. At the same time AD Singh was appointed Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

It is noteworthy that CRPF is the largest Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) of the country with approximately 3.25 lakh personnel. It has been deployed to perform various duties in the field of internal security of the country including conducting anti-Naxal operations.

Who is Eddie Singh?

Anish Dayal Singh i.e. AD Singh is a 1988 batch IPS officer of Manipur cadre. He is the 32nd chief of the ITBP, which was established in 1962. Its main work was to protect the India-China borders. On October 24, 2022, ITBP completed 60 years of its establishment.
