After this, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda today resigned from the post of Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh. Nadda resigned only after the first list of party candidates for the Lok Sabha elections came out. Elections were held on 27 February

It is noteworthy that on February 27, Rajya Sabha elections were held on 56 seats in 15 states. Out of these, candidates had won unopposed on 41 seats. Because only one candidate had contested on these seats, while voting was held on 15 seats. These voting seats were from UP, Himachal and Karnataka. Voting was held on 10 seats in UP, 1 in Himachal and 4 in Karnataka. Out of which, out of 10 seats in UP, 8 went to BJP and 2 to SP. BJP also won the seat in Himachal, while in Karnataka, Congress won 3 seats while BJP won 1 seat.
