New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced the schedule of Lok Sabha elections across the country. Elections will be conducted in seven phases in the country. The first phase of voting will be held on 19 April, the second phase on 26 April, the third phase on 07 May, the fourth phase of voting on 13 May, the fifth phase of voting on 20 May, the sixth phase of voting on 26 May and the seventh phase of voting on 1 June. . With this, counting of votes across the country will be completed on June 4.

Along with the Lok Sabha elections, voting will be held on 26 assembly seats in different states of the country. This includes one from Bihar, five from Gujarat, one from Haryana, one from Jharkhand, one from Maharashtra, one from Tripura, four from Uttar Pradesh, two from West Bengal, one from Telangana, six from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. By-elections will be held on one assembly seat.

More than 48 thousand transgenders will take part in voting

Voters ranging from youth of 18 years to elders who have crossed 100 years of age take part in this festival of Lok Sabha elections. While sharing information in this regard, the Election Commission said that this time more than 21 crore youth will participate in the voting. Along with this, more than 88.4 lakh disabled voters will make their invaluable contribution in strengthening democracy. There are also more than 82 lakh people whose age is above 85 years. There are also 2.18 lakh voters whose age is above 100 years. This time more than 48 thousand transgenders will also take part in the voting.

Various arrangements at polling stations

The Election Commission said that we are making all efforts to make the elections memorable. Where there are even 5 voters, we will make polling booths there also. Along with this, drinking water will be available at all polling stations. Separate toilets will be built for men and women. Ramps and wheelchairs will also be arranged for disabled voters. Along with this, there will also be arrangements for electricity and lighting inside the polling stations.
