CBI busts big human trafficking racket, raids in 7 states – India TV Hindi

New Delhi: The Central Investigation Agency (CBI) has busted a big racket of human taxidermy. CBI raided 10 locations of this racket in seven states. During this period, Rs 50 lakh in cash, suspicious documents, electric records, laptops, mobile phones and many desktops have been recovered from there. Along with this, CBI has also detained many people. All of them are being interrogated.

Russia-Ukraine sent 35 people

The investigating agency has said that till now the investigation has revealed that till now these people have sent 35 people to Russia and Ukraine on the pretext of jobs. Revealing the modus operandi of this racket, the CBI said that these people used to target innocent youth by promising them lucrative jobs abroad. These smugglers are working as an organized network and were luring Indian citizens for high paying jobs in Russia through social media channels like YouTube etc. and through their local contacts/agents.

The case was registered on Wednesday

In this regard, a case of human trafficking was registered on 06.03.2024 against private visa consultancy firms and agents and others, CBI informed. They have been found engaged in trafficking of Indian citizens to Russia under the guise of better employment and higher paying jobs. The human trafficking network of these agents is spread in many states across the country.

Raid at 13 places

In this case, CBI is conducting simultaneous searches at about 13 places in Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Ambala, Chandigarh, Madurai and Chennai. So far, cash worth more than Rs 50 lakh has been recovered. Along with this, objectionable documents and electronic records like laptop, mobile, desktop, CCTV footage etc. have been seized by the agency. The search is still going on in this case.
