The Election Commission has today announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections 2024. This time the elections will be held between April 19 and June 1. These elections will be held in total 7 phases. The results of Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be declared on June 4. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that with the announcement of the election schedule for the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha, the code of conduct has come into force in the country with immediate effect. Along with this, the government will not be able to take any policy decision which can influence the decision of the voters.

Election Commission revealed the figures of voters
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there are a total of 97 crore registered voters in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Of these, 49.7 crore men, 47.1 crore women and 48 thousand transgenders are included. The total number of voters in the 2019 elections was 90 crores. He said that the number of voters who will vote for the first time is 1.8 crore and the voter list includes 82 lakh voters above 85 years of age and 2.18 lakh voters above 100 years of age. Kumar said that the voter sex ratio across the country is 948 and in 12 states and union territories, the number of female voters is more than male voters. He said that there will be more than 10.5 lakh polling stations in the country and 55 lakh electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be used.
Elderly people will be able to vote from home
The Chief Election Commissioner said that violence has no place in elections. To avoid this, we will deal with it strictly and a control room has been set up in every district. CEC said that there will be facility to vote from home for voters above 85 years of age. During this, he said that if there is a case of distribution of money anywhere, then take photographs and send it to the Election Commission. The Election Commission will solve the problem by sending a team within 100 minutes. Not only this, anyone who turns 18 years of age by April 1, 2024 will be able to vote in this election.
