Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had a program in Mysore district on Thursday. Something happened during this program which became a topic of discussion. The Chief Minister pressed the button to start the motor. Everyone felt that the work for which the CM came here was done.
CM had attended a program organized by Kaveri Neeravari Corporation.
After the CM pressed the button, everyone clapped, but even after this the motor did not start. CM pressed the button twice but this time too it was the same story. Let us inform that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar had attended a program organized by the Water Resources Department and Cauvery Neeravari Corporation at Koppa in Piriyapatna taluk of Mysuru district. A project to bring water from Kaveri river near Muthinamulusoge to fill 150 lakes of 79 villages has been inaugurated here.
This project will reduce the problems related to water supply of the villagers. The Chief Minister pressed the button to inaugurate this project but it did not work. After this, Principal Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Umadevi suspended Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Managing Director (MD) CN Sridhar. It is being told that this order was issued after the report of Mysore District Magistrate Dr. KV Rajendra.
Why was the electricity department official suspended?
Now it is being said that at the time of the inauguration of the project, the electronic equipment used to remove the plaque curtain was not working. In the report, District Magistrate Rajendra said that CESC MD Sridhar violated protocol by not attending the Chief Minister’s program despite being informed by a letter on January 23. Also Sridhar failed to ensure that the arrangements were in place. After this it was decided to suspend him.
