Cold havoc will continue, red alert issued for dense fog for two days in Haryana-Punjab

The Meteorological Department has said that the activity of western disturbance is likely to increase once again. Due to this disturbance, not only are there chances of rain in some states of North India, but fresh snowfall is also expected in the hilly areas. There is a possibility of extreme cold and thaw in the plains from Monday night till Thursday, while a red alert of dense fog has been issued in Haryana and Punjab for the next two days. Fog will still continue to increase in many states.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be fresh snowfall in the upper parts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, while rain is expected in many parts of Uttarakhand including the plains. Due to the disturbance, there may be rain in some areas of Uttar Pradesh including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Rain is expected in different parts from Tuesday to Thursday. Due to rain, difference in temperature can be seen in some areas. The cold will also increase due to rain.

Chances of rain in many states, cold will increase

The Meteorological Department scientist has said that fresh snowfall is also expected in some areas. Due to changed weather within the next three days, winds blowing at a speed of about 13 kilometers per hour may increase melting in the plains. For this reason, from Monday night to Thursday afternoon, minimum to maximum temperatures are expected to fall in the plain areas of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. At present, the temperature in some areas of North India ranges from three degrees to seven degrees Celsius, which may remain like this in the next three days.

Dense fog can be seen in some parts of Bihar including Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh. Within the next three days, the outbreak of cold wave may increase in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Punjab Haryana. According to scientists of the department, cold wave will increase in the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
