Congress has handed over the command of Andhra Pradesh to YS Sharmila. YS Sharmila is the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. It was already believed that Congress could hand over the command of Andhra Pradesh to YS Sharmila. In fact, this year, along with the Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections are also to be held in Andhra Pradesh. In view of this, these changes have been made in the State Congress. In the sequence of these changes, Gidugu Rudra Raju resigned from the post of President of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

Rudra Raju resigned from the post of president on January 15.

It was already believed that Congress could hand over the command of Andhra Pradesh to YS Sharmila. In fact, the then Congress President of Andhra Pradesh Rudra Raju had resigned from his post on January 15. This resignation happened at the behest of the high command, because the party had already written the script of YS Sharmila’s coronation. YS Sharmila did not field her party’s candidates in the Telangana assembly elections. She had said that if I field a candidate, there will be division of votes and it may cause loss. Sharmila’s party had supported Congress. After this the party was also merged with Congress.

YS Sharmila merged her party with Congress

YS Sharmila had helped her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy launch his party YSRCP in 2012. Jagan had left Congress and formed this party, but then Jagan Mohan went to jail on corruption charges and Sharmila kept the party together from behind. Then YSRCP won the elections and Jagan became the CM, but differences started between sister Sharmila and brother Jagan. As a result, Sharmila formed a new party and recently merged the party with Congress.
