Congress staked claim on these seats of UP, Bengal and Delhi in front of its allies.

As Lok Sabha elections 2024 approach, election activities have started intensifying. As the elections are approaching, the issue of seat sharing between the INDIA alliance of opposition parties is becoming complex. At such a time, news has come that the Congress Party has demanded from the alliance partners for preferred Lok Sabha seats in UP, Delhi, Jharkhand and Bengal. According to sources, Congress has also given the number of seats for itself in Delhi and Maharashtra etc. If sources are to be believed, Congress has staked claim on 9 seats in Bihar and 20 seats in Maharashtra.

Demand for these seats of Uttar Pradesh

Congress has asked for a total of 11 seats in Uttar Pradesh from its allies in the India alliance. These 11 seats are Rae Bareli, Jhansi, Amethi, Faizabad, Lakhimpur, Saharanpur, Maharajganj, Dharuhara, Varanasi, Pratapgarh and Lucknow. Let us tell you that PM Modi is MP from Varanasi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is MP from Lucknow. In the last Lok Sabha elections 2019, Congress Party had won only 1 Lok Sabha seat.

Claim on these seats of West Bengal

On one hand, Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee has expressed her desire to single-handedly win all the seats in Bengal, while on the other hand, Congress has staked claim on 6 Lok Sabha seats in the state. These seats are Malda-North, Malda-South, Behrampur, Jangipur, Raiganj and Basirhat. The special thing is that Pranab Mukherjee used to contest elections from Jangipur, whereas Adhir Ranjan is the MP from Behrampur.

Jharkhand and Delhi seats

Congress has asked for Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Khunti, Jamshedpur, Chatara, Palamu, Singhbhum and Lohdarga seats of Jharkhand from its allies in India. On the other hand, there is news that RJD also wants Chatra and Palamu seats. At the same time, Congress has also staked claim on the capital’s Delhi seat, East Delhi seat, South Delhi seat and New Delhi seat. Let us tell you that there are 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand.
