Meeting held regarding names of candidates.
New Delhi: There are not many days left for the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, while many parties have started announcing the names of their candidates, Congress is also busy preparing for the elections. The meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress concluded on Thursday. In this meeting the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections was discussed. In such a situation, it is believed that during the discussion, the names of candidates for many Lok Sabha seats have been finalized. Sources say that the first list of Lok Sabha candidates can be announced by Congress on Friday.
Discussion took place on 60 seats
According to sources, the names of candidates for 60 Lok Sabha seats of 10 states were discussed in the CEC meeting on Thursday. In this meeting, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel can be made a candidate from Rajnandgaon seat. Apart from this, Jyotsna Mahant can contest elections from Korba, whereas no decision has been taken yet on Bastar seat. Whereas Rahul Gandhi can contest elections again from Wayanad seat of Kerala, while Shashi Tharoor can contest elections from Thiruvananthapuram seat.
What happened on 3 seats of Delhi
Talking about Delhi, there is an alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress Party. Under this alliance, AAP has got four seats in Delhi while Congress has got three seats in Delhi. Of these, Aam Aadmi Party has already announced the names of four candidates, while the names of Congress candidates are yet to be announced for the remaining three seats. If sources are to be believed, no decision has been taken yet in the CEC meeting due to there being more than one candidate for all three seats in Delhi. Congress will first decide on a single name for the Delhi seats, the Congress President will decide who will be given tickets on the three seats in Delhi.
AAP declared candidates
According to sources, names of Alka Lamba, JP Aggarwal and Sandeep Dixit are ahead for Chandni Chowk seat of Delhi. Whereas the names of Arvinder Singh Lovely and Anil Chaudhary are being discussed for North East Delhi seat. Apart from this, ticket can be given to either Rajkumar Chauhan and Udit Raj on North West seat. Let us tell you that Aam Aadmi Party has made Somnath Bharti its candidate from New Delhi, Sahi Ram Pehalwan from South Delhi, Kuldeep Kumar from East Delhi and Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi.
