Corona’s havoc is increasing again (indicative photo)
The threat of Corona virus, which is wreaking havoc in the country and the world, has once again started looming. In this new wave of Corona, most of the patients are emerging from Kerala. In the last several days, many infected patients have also died in Kerala due to Corona. In the last few days, the number of active Corona patients in Kerala has crossed 1700. Latest data in this regard has been shared by the Health Ministry.
How many new cases across the country?
According to Union Health Ministry data, 115 fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported in Kerala in the last 24 hours. After this, the total active cases of corona virus in the state increased to 1,749. According to the Health Ministry website, out of the total 142 cases of corona infection reported across the country till 8 am on Tuesday, 115 cases are from Kerala.
Central government alerted
The central government also on Monday asked states and union territories to maintain constant surveillance amid the rise in COVID-19 cases in the country and the first case of the JN.1 variant. In the letter sent by the Central Government to the states, it has been said that keeping in mind the upcoming festive season, the states should take requisite public health measures and other arrangements to reduce the risk of spread of the disease.
Alert issued in Karnataka
In view of the increasing threat of Corona virus in the neighboring state of Kerala, the Karnataka government has issued an alert. The guidelines issued ask people above 60 years of age, persons suffering from co-morbidities, pregnant women and lactating mothers to wear face masks whenever they step out of the house. The government has also issued a circular directing officials in the districts bordering Kerala and Tamil Nadu to remain alert, conduct adequate testing and timely list Covid cases.
