Announcement of dates of Lok Sabha elections 2024

The Election Commission has announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections today. The Election Commission said that voting for the Lok Sabha elections will start from April 19 and the results will come on June 4. Lok Sabha elections will be held in 7 phases, out of which the first phase will be held on 19 April, the second phase on 26 April, the third phase on 7 May, the fourth phase on 13 May, the fifth phase on 20 May, the sixth phase on 25 May and the seventh phase on 1 June.

97 crore registered voters will vote

Let us tell you that while announcing the dates for 543 Lok Sabha seats, the Election Commission said that this time there are 97 crore registered voters and there are a total of 10.5 lakh polling stations. During this, the Election Commission also told that the total youth voters in the country are 19.74 crore. Not only this, out of total 97 crore voters across the country, 49.7 crore are male voters and 47.1 crore are female voters. In the press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar also told that 1.8 crore youth will vote for the first time in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The Election Commission also said that this time the number of voters above 85 years of age is 82 lakh. Whereas the number of female voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years is 85.3 lakh and the number of voters in the age group of 20 to 29 years is 19.74 crore. Not only this, there are 48 thousand transgender voters in this election. There are 88.4 lakh physically handicapped voters. There are 19.1 lakh working voters and 2.18 lakh voters are central employees.
