Kanpur: There has been a stir after the dead body of IIT Kanpur research staff member Dr. Pallavi Chilka was found in the hostel. When the police and forensic team arrived and broke the door of the room, Pallavi’s body was found hanging from the fan. The police have been involved in the investigation of the case.
Who was Dr. Pallavi?
Doctor Pallavi was 35 years old. She was associated with the Department of Bio Science and Bio Engineering of IIT Kanpur. She is said to be a resident of Orissa. There has been a stir in IIT Kanpur after his dead body was found.
IIT’s statement came out
IIT’s statement has come out regarding the death of Dr. Pallavi. The institute said, ‘IIT Kanpur, with deep sorrow, condoles the untimely and unfortunate demise of Dr Pallavi Chilka, a research staff member in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering of the institute. Dr. Chilka, a promising young researcher, joined the institute to pursue her postdoctoral research. She was found dead in her hostel room on 19 December. A police forensic team visited the premises to review the cause of death. The institute is awaiting police investigation to determine the probable cause of death. With the demise of Dr. Chilka, the institute has lost a talented and promising young researcher.
