Hemant Soren’s anger
Ranchi: Champai Soren has become the Chief Minister of the state after the resignation of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, who was embroiled in a corruption case. On Monday, newly elected CM Champai Soren is proving his majority in the Assembly. JMM leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, arrested by ED, reached the Assembly here on Monday to participate in the trust vote of the Champai Soren-led government. A special court in Ranchi had allowed Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) working president Hemant Soren to participate in the floor test. When Hemant Soren started sitting in the car to go towards the court, he was surrounded by journalists. On seeing the journalists, Soren got angry and hit the mike.
Citing several decisions of the High Court and the Supreme Court, the court has allowed Hemant Soren to take part in voting and has also banned him from talking to the media in the Assembly or outside the Assembly. The court has ordered the Enforcement Directorate to take Hemant Soren to the Assembly at 11 o’clock and bring him with him by around 12 o’clock after voting.

Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam and soon after Champai Soren was elected the leader of the legislature party. ED had arrested Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren had filed an application against this in the court. After not getting relief from the Supreme Court, Hemant Soren has filed a petition in the High Court challenging his arrest and remand. Both the points have been challenged by filing an intervention petition on behalf of Hemant Soren. Hemant was going to appear in the court and was not answering the questions of the journalists. His anger was seen at its peak.

Hemant’s petition is listed for hearing on Monday in a division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice S Chandrashekhar. In his intervention petition, Hemant Soren has said that no case is made out against him. He has been arrested due to political hatred. His arrest is wrong and against the rules.
