In this case, ED will trace the money earned from drugs syndicate in Tollywood and Bollywood. Not only this, ED will also uncover layers of black money worth crores of rupees from the drugs racket spread abroad.
Zafar Sadiq had given money to Udayanidhi
Under the money laundering investigation, ED will now try to find out how far the links of Tamil film producers extend to foreign countries. Where was the huge amount of drug money routed? Let us tell you that Zafar Sadiq was arrested by NCB in the international drug smuggling case. Zafar is a producer of Tamil films and is close to the DMK party. During interrogation, accused Zafar Sadiq told NCB that he had given Rs 7 lakh to Udhayanidhi Stalin. Gave 5 lakhs to the relief fund during the flood and 2 lakhs to the party fund. NCB has so far arrested 4 people in this drugs case.
Drug syndicate worth more than Rs 2,000 crore
It is noteworthy that on Friday, NCB had said that they have busted an international gang involved in smuggling of 3,500 kg of drug called ‘Pseudoephedrine’. NCB has described Zafar Sadiq as the alleged leader of the gang in this case. The price of this drug in the international market is more than Rs 2,000 crore.
Film made with drug money
Not only this, the casting couch angle has also come to light in the NCB investigation. NCB will soon issue summons to some Bollywood film financiers and call them for questioning. Besides, NCB can also call Udhayanidhi Stalin for questioning. Drugs kingpin Zafar Sadiq’s film named Mangai was about to be released. NCB’s inquiry has revealed that the Tamil film named ‘Mangai’ was made with drug money.
