ED summons Mahua Moitra for questioning
The Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to former MP Mahua Moitra. ED has issued summons to former TMC MP in the case of foreign exchange transactions. In the summons, ED has called Mahua to the office for questioning on February 19. Let us tell you that Mahua Moitra has been expelled from Parliament for taking money and asking questions in Parliament. Actually, the matter of asking questions by taking money and gifts was investigated by the Ethics Committee of the Parliament. While presenting its report on the table of the House, the committee had recommended the cancellation of Mahua Moitra’s MP.
Mahua Moitra expelled from Parliament
Actually, Mahua Moitra was accused of asking questions in Parliament at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey complained about this matter. He said that lawyer Jai Ananth Dehadrai has also given him some evidence in this case. After this, he wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and informed about the matter. He wrote in his letter that he received a letter from lawyer and former friend Jai Ananth to Mahua, in which he has also shared evidence of taking bribe for asking questions between Mahua and well-known businessman Darshan Hiranandani.
The ethics committee had given the report
Nishikant Dubey said that out of 61 questions asked by Mahua Moitra in Parliament, 50 were asked at the behest of Darshan Hiranandani. He also gave his login ID to the businessman. Considering the seriousness of the matter, its investigation was handed over to the Ethics Committee. After this the Ethics Committee presented the report. In the report, the Ethics Committee found Mahua guilty and recommended that Mahua Moitra be expelled from Parliament. After this Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha.
